Currently working within the South Australian’s Department for Education’s Learning and Teaching directorate as a Learning Partner within the Partnerships, Research and Innovation team, Liam is an advocate for staff and students in public education and the importance of building critical, creative and caring thinkers, collaboratively.
Liam is an active member of the education community in South Australia through his involvement in education associations and the Australian Education Union.
As part of the union, Liam is a member of the AEU Branch Executive and the OHSW Standing Committee. He has represented the union as a South Australian delegate to the AEU Federal Conference and contributed to AEU SA events like the AI in Education conference as a facilitator and the Union Leaders conference as a panellist representing the OAC subbranch as joint-winners of the Subbranch of the Year Award.
Chair of the South Australian Philosophy in Education Association and Secretary for the Federation of Asia-Pacific Philosophy in Schools Associations, Liam advocates for the study of philosophy, in particular Philosophy for Children (P4C) and dialogic pedagogy.
Liam has a double degree, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Teaching, from the University of Adelaide, having studied educational theory, History, English, and Philosophy.
Liam enjoys spending his time with his family and friends, watching films and football, music, pursuing the best flat white, and being in close proximity to water.
